CELEBRATING THE NORTHROPS!

I cannot believe that TEN whole months have passed since one of my favorite days ever -- March 26, 2022 will forever be a day where Jacob and I felt tremendously loved. The day went perfectly, but it could not have happened without the tremendous help from our family, friends and fabulous vendors.

Let's begin by giving a shoutout to our vendors!

Photography - Letty Weeks Photography

@lettyweeksphotography

I met Letty in 2006 when I went to stay with my cousin, Elizabeth Tackett at her dorm at MSU. Elizabeth and Letty have continued to be best friends all throughout college, married life, and motherhood. I admire Letty and her creative spirit, and how great of a friend she is to Elizabeth. She was the perfect choice as a photographer for our big day!

Flowers - Fresh Cut and Catering / Galleries Rentals

@freshcutofjxn @galleriesofjxn

I knew exactly what I wanted when it came to florals, and Mrs. Wendy Putt was not phased when I showed up with a PowerPoint showing exactly what I did and did NOT want when it came to flowers. Wendy was not only super easy to work with, she was honest when it came to design choices and showed me how to get the most "bang for my buck."

Flowers - Carol Springer: Houston, TX

@localcolorbiz

My aunt Carol was a life saver when it came to helping me pick out florals for my wedding. She helped me create a mood board with flowers and helped me nail down exactly what I wanted. We turned my grandfather's house into our "greenhouse" for the week. She helped create boutonnières, nose gays, bouquets, and all of my ceremony florals. I am so thankful for her and her creative spirit!

Invitations - Design by Anna Chaney, printed by Goodgames Pascagoula, calligraphy by Clare Baumhauer, hand deckled by yours truly :)

I knew I wanted my wedding invitations to be unique to me, and I am so glad that I trusted Anna to help me with the design process. She created a beautiful watercolor of my home church for my details card. So many of my friends and family now have this card framed in their homes as it looks just like the original artwork! If you are looking for print shop on the coast, Goodgames is the place to go! I adore Mrs. Cheryl and all of her staff. They were patient with me and my million "test prints" to ensure that everything was perfect. I chose to print my invitations on a crème linen paper. I knew I wanted deckled edges but could not find anywhere that could deckle them for me, so I did it myself! Yes, it was SO time consuming but SO SO worth it! I may write a blog post on how to deckle your invitations yourself soon... It was definitely a trial and error process. My beautiful calligraphy was done by my friend Clare Baumhauer. She wrote all of my addresses in gold ink, and I truly believe that it was the perfect detail that pulled my wedding invitation suite together!

Cakes - Cups-N-Cakes, Louisville, Mississippi

@cupsncakes.bakery

The flavor of our wedding cakes was the absolute only thing that Jacob had an opinion about during the wedding planning process. Hailey Williams with Cups-N-Cakes in Louisville, MS is the best of the best! There is a reason why she has won "Best of Mississippi Weddings" for so many years in a row! She is so kind and easy to work with, and really helped us nail down exactly what we envisioned for our cakes. My wedding cake was 7 layers alternating between almond, strawberry, and my absolute favorite, funfetti! Jacob choose a square cake with one tier of chocolate cake with cookies and crème icing, and one tier of German chocolate. I knew marrying a coast boy meant that he would want some type of fish incorporated in his cake. Hailey created a beautiful coastal scene cake and incorporated Jacob's boat as well as two his favorite fish (a snapper and cobia I think?). His cake was topped with a custom Shearwater pottery fish that I ordered legitimately 4 days after we were engaged. It was miraculously finished the week of our wedding, and I am so thankful they were able to create such a fun piece for us to use on our wedding day and now display in our home.

Photo Booth - Mississippi Photo Booth

@mississippiphotobooths

The photo booth was Jacob's idea completely. Mr. Scott from MS photo booth was very easy to work with. Once guests took their photos, they got a copy for themselves and an additional print was put in a book for Jacob and me to keep. We use our photo booth book as a coffee table book now and love to look back at all of the photos from our reception!

There were so many details that I would love to share. Writing and blogging are definitely not my strengths, but I would love to share all of those details with everyone one day soon if I can musk up the courage to publish some of my drafts. I love LOVE and can come up with any reason to have a celebration. My hope for anyone who chooses me to help plan their celebration is that they feel the same way as I did on my wedding day. I am so thankful for the celebrations that I have assisted with this far, and know there is so much more to come.

LOVE YA,

susannah
